A rare example of an 18th century barometer signed Salon Reaumur , carved with laurel leaves, wheat husks & birds with a gilt finish. Some historic wear & tear but a rare item nonetheless.

Reaumur was the inventer of the temperature scale for which the melting & boiling points of water were zero & 80 degrees respectively & in common use across Europe until the late 1800's.
